Topshop and darn good Indian food July 17,2007

today, miss d had a nice day - checked out buckingham palace, st james park and westminster abbey. she saw the queen's gallery and the queen's mews and hurt her feet but recovered well when she picked me up at work today. we went to topshop on oxford street - it's a great store, like h&m on acid - trendy stuff for not a lot...we both did well and didn't spend a lot so i am very proud of us. kate moss designed a line of clothing for topshop which came out a couple of months ago and cause a big mob scene in london as she is known for her fashion sense and lack of judgement regarding men. for the opening, she posed in the windows on oxford street that really amused me and ali, so i posted one of the pictures just for ali to giggle at. we had dinner at rasa - rasa is a "chain" of southern indian restaurants and one of them is two blocks away from my place. this was miss d's first foray into southern indian food and, thankfully, unlike my other guest, she had a great experience. we sat next to two gentleman from the us that ... how do i say this nicely... helped define the term "silly american". they were very confused about what to order and had a hard time understanding the waiter, poor things, i think they enjoyed their meal but got very irritated when he couldn't split their check. they were open minded about trying things which was very sweet but they were a little scared of their food when it arrived. i had to hold myself back from intervening and explaining their food and how to eat it. that's the annoying planner in me i suppose. my spots seymour, et al, are on their way out the door, and i think they were only visiting becuase of my upcoming "ladies holiday" ... my yoga friends will get what i am saying.
