i love this picture - it's in the entryway to my flat. it's very disco - very different from the layout of my place. it's a sign, as i have been telling wayne that our next dog must be a chinese crested hound - they are very weird looking but rather charming at the same time and they look great in sequin harnesses (i saw one at henri bendel and fell in love)
on another note, i went to the brand new whole foods in kensington and WOW. it's huge - three levels and blows every whole foods out of the water. i will go back and take pictures - it was that amazing. the selections were vast - and today, i tried this amazing cheese - a mozzarella -and learned that i had just been flown in from italy that day. that's the difference between the us and europe, we just don't have the same options. i met some of the staff and they happened to be in from the US getting everything set up, they told me the next place they were going to update was chicago and i just about made them pinky promise that there would be a "make your own muesli bar" available when i got back. more on this whole foods passion later.
tonight i had dinner with my old boss and friend liz at a wonderful southern indian restaurant called rasa samudra. we had a wonderful dinner, better than last night, and got a chance to chat with the owner for awhile - he is more passionate about food than anyone, save vanessa. it was so much fun and we might take one of his cooking classes before i return home. i also learned today that it hasn't been this rainy in london for a straight period of time in the summer since the beginning of the 20th century. interesting.
